Here are some examples of glass accent tile in bathrooms. Water has a primary role in the bathroom. Made of molten stone, glass looks watery. It bends the light that hits it and echoes the feel of the water we use to bathe.

A guest shower made of Heath Tile and Italics Glass

Blue glass and Kemalpassa Marble

Blue green glass bars and subway tile.

Soap insert in glass 1×1′s.

Heath Tile glass and porcelain.

A clawfoot tub is surrounded by 3×6″ subway glass.

Handpressed subway tile is accented by bluegreen glass.

Temescal Creek flows around this bathroom with fossils from the owners’ collection.

Artist Christine Daugherty drew this river on her shower wall and Jo executed it in sliced pebble and porcelain subway tile.

Sculptor Michael Bauermeister and singer/songwriter Gloria Attoun co-designed this river to run around their tub.

Stanislaus River

This entryway was co-designed by the owner, who loves the Stanislaus River and myself. It is made of Jerusalem Gold Travertine and glass.

Nisqually River Fountain

The Nisqually River runs from a fountain ‘source’, across a patio, down a set of stairs and into a reservoir.

Meramec River Teahouse

Here is a geographically accurate ‘map’ of an oxbow in the Meramec River, set on the floor of a teahouse in Washington, Missouri. My grandfather’s cabin is located at the alabaster cube that bears his name. Matted river pebbles on a field of porcelain tile with grout that matches the local soil.

Ocean

This ocean mosaic is on a countertop on a Berkeley, CA houseboat. The owner collected carnelian from nearby beaches. Broken glass frames the shoreline, carnelian pebbles and shells are set in grout.
